i havent seen S for ages. so last week she invited me to go to the Blak Nite Cinema at a park in the city. it is dedicated to indigenous people in australia and even the forces behind the short movies came from indigenous as well (the directors, script writers, actors). so we decided to meet at about 7pm. it was sort of like a picnic so people brought blankets, food, dogs etc. S was so kind to bring blankets, small pillows, chips, cookies and dips. i on the other hand, only bought some chips (too!). haha. the shows supposed to start at 7:30pm but this was how 7:30pm looked like.
i enjoyed the movies tho the last one was kind of depressing. i had some trouble understanding parts of the conversation because their accent was strong that i couldnt even guess what they were saying. thank god there was S to explain to me. hehe. thanks S! apart from that, it was great. we both OD'ed on chips. lol. and i thank god the weather wasnt as cold as i've predicted.
there was actually a highlight that night. sitting in front of us were a couple of locals and one of them brought his dog, called Hana/Hanna. the guy (owner) asked me before hand if it's okay with me that Hanna is there. i said okay. curious, i asked S what kind of dog is that and it's a German Sheperd. it's huge and brown and cute and harmless. i told S i couldnt touch dogs tho i secrectly wanted to touch them because dogs are SO cute. Hanna didnt sit still throughout the night and kept pacing and moving back and forth in front of us. i wasnt scared at first but nearing the end of the show, she suddenly stood up and walked in front of me and then turned his face towards me. i thought she was just gonna sniff the blanket or something (so i just acted normal) but she kept moving forward and started to sniff my jeans! i think i yelped (i didnt scream) but it was like a small cry and cupped my mouth while my other hand was on S asking her to save me (via brain signal).hahaha. the owner heard me and immediately sat up and said something to S. i could only hear something like, 'she doesnt bite' or 'she's friendly' (i think) :p S did save me. thank you! i felt guilty because i didnt want to offend him because truth to be told, i like dogs, its just that i cant have any contact with them. then, at the end of the show, the guy brought Hanna closer to us and said something to S (i wasnt concentrating but i KNEW he wants us to pat Hanna.uh-oh). S patted her and i just watched. then the guy turned to ME and said its okay for me to touch her. i was speechless and looked at S with a meaningful eye (haha) and looked back at Hanna and the guy. i dont know how to say no and kinda didnt want to because, like i said before, i didnt want to offend anyone. (a fren told me once that some people do get offended if we show them that we're scared of their pets. i dont know how true it is but i got a feeling if i dont touch that german sheperd i might as well wish i didnt say OK in the first place). am i making sense here? well, anyways, i did pat and touch Hanna. she's a good dog and yes, she doesnt bite. :)
later, i got home and did 'samak'.
