i told mom all i want to do here is eat. she said 'Amboi'. haha. its true! i missed the food a lot. so the first thing i got was the spicy prawn sushi from Sushi Sushi. the best!

and then we went to a cafe called Sweet Crumble. i came across the cafe at Broadsheet Melbourne and decided that i should go although it's a bit far from CBD.

2011

2011 has taught me a lot of things about life and one of the biggest thing is being humble. I have a very good friend to whom i look up to. Without her even realizing, she has showed and taught me to be humble. She wears expensive clothes, expensive handbags (LV, Chanel, Mulberry..you name it) and drives a real expensive car BUT she is the modest and nicest person i've ever known. I kid you not. Frankly, i would expect someone like her to show off but no, she has never done that. I respect her for being able to make me realize that being proud (intentionally/unintentionally) isn't cool. I mean, if a wealthy person can do that, why can't i? Why can't everyone else, right? I used to envy her but i learned that being envious didn't bring me anywhere. It just built more bitterness and so i decided to stop feeling bitter and instead appreciating what i have. I must say that it's not bad at all! If you compare urself to a richer person, of course you wouldn't be satisfied, but if you compare urself to the less privileged, you'll discover a whole new meaning of being grateful. Lagipun, rezeki kita kan lain2. Org tu lebih kat situ, kita pun lebih in other aspect. You cant always get what you want (got that from watching Glee) lol. Anyway, from her I learned to control my bragness (no such word but IDK) a lot and focus on what i have rather than what i don't have. I mean..fine, i don't have an LV, but i have a Tony Bianco. I don't have a Golf but i have a Myvi. Those are good enough, Alhamdulillah. At least, i have something. But hmm..i do like to tell friends sometimes though. hehe. But but it's either something that i've always wanted or something someone gave me. It's not the same thing as showing off, right? I'd call it sharing or maybe...a minimal bragging. HAHA. Okay okay, on a serious note, do keep saying 'Alhamdulillah' AND mean it. Not just because it seems right or because ur supposed to.

So, my resolution for 2012 is to be more humble, more(?) appreciative and happier than in 2011, Oh but of course, no more feeding mom with boy stories. It's getting ridiculous! haha. there's nothing wrong with being single what. I absolutely love it. Senang cerita, kalau ada jodoh, ada lah. kalau takde, chill lah! Anyhoo, i hope you'll have an awesome 2012 people!

Part One

Ahh..at last. i managed to post something. i promised to update on my NZ trip weeks ago but got too lazy. i think im ready now. :D so, last year me and two housemates decided to go on a two weeks trip to NZ. i was a bit reluctant to go at first, obviously because of financial reasons but heck, i booked the ticket anyway (at the same time praying money will grow on our lemon tree). my lovelies took care of our itinerary and then off we go. our first stop was Christchurch and it was freezing. it rained and rained and gloomy. i wasn't excited, really. in fact i was miserable. oh well.

it's been two months since i started working and i haven't really blogged about it. so this is my attempt on doing so. most people would ask 'hows work?' and i'd say 'it's fine.' or 'im getting use to it now.' and if you ask if i like the job, i'd say 'i dont like it but i dont hate it either.' to be honest, i am getting better with my work and i just love that i could type faster than before. when i first started, i was stressed as hell and nervous all the time. i'd tell my orientation buddy about it and he'd always say 'dont worry. you'll get there.' so now, i am there. just need a little more practice doing interviews and talk backs and THEN i'll be just fineeee.

okay, enough about work. lets talk about my colleagues! fyi, im the oldest in my department but definitely not the oldest in the clique. *phew* anyways, they are the best. not that my colleagues in Cyber weren't (love y'all loooong time!) *hugs* hehe. my first time meeting them was a bit of a shock. they are waayyyyy modern and open-minded. like way waaaayyyyyyyy. haha. but that's a good thing i guess. it's an eye-opener. when they tell stories, you'd see my eyes go WIDE and my heart goes, 'are you effing kidding me?' or 'yaAllah' or 'astarfirullah'. but most of the time it's 'yaAllah'. yeah, they're THAT open but i like it. they're not shy about the things they do nor try to cover up things. its good for me because everyday im well-informed on so many things. politics (yuck, but yeah), dictatorships, crushes, ex-boyfriends, sex, sex, more sex. hahaha. fun, isnt it? :D

my work isnt really a relaxed kinda job. well, it depends on the person lah. my buddy and neighbor say it is. but anyways, since our job is kinda relaxed, we get to do so many things while doing our work. okay, not everyone. just me and Ish. and we did the things below in between work. he puts one card, then back to typing. i dropped one card and then back to face the monitor. hehe

weekends should be spent with

reading or shopping or sleeping.

but my weekends weren't as fun. while everyone got to stay at home doing absolutely nothing, going out with friends, watching movies, I had to WORK. my dad opened a cafe at a local university and it only operates on the weekends. so naturally, I had to help.and oh, mom too. since then, our weekends are gone. we'd wake up (very) early in the morning to help with stuff, cooking etc. then while working, i would be thinking of monday. i swear i never looked forward to mondays before! haha. and there were moments where i'd wish i'd be at home or at someone's wedding. BUT fret no more..because my work ended last weekend! yay!

for those who might not know, i've gotten a job in KL(woot!) and will be starting next week. i know im supposed to be excited but i am scared + nervous + worried = puke. i've been dreaming of this for so long that when it really happens, i got all crazy. panic even. lalala.

BUT i can't wait for future meet-ups with the girls! and when i said meet-ups i meant, getting drunk and fly high in the skyyyyyyy. okay, maybe not. but you get the idea. so mundane munster, i WILL bring your dvds along and pass them to you. to fragile heart, i WILL try to find the time to look at your ipod because i have never seen or heard a case like yours. most intriguing. lol. to irda, nats and hana, i can't wait to strike a pose together! weeeee

the Zoo! what's not to love about zoos, right? i've always loved going to the zoo. one of the first places i went shortly after arriving in Melbourne, was the zoo. in fact, i went there twice! it would have been thrice(?) if i didn't have to work on the day Hana went with my brother.boo. on the second and the last time i went, my housemates and brother were there with me.it was my pre-departure farewell picnic.i wore the most colourful dress i had in my wardrobe. and of course we took pictures of ourselves more than the animals. haha. no lah, where got. my brother lah ni. he excluded almost all of them animals pictures. hence, u'll see more of us here!

before i went to Melbourne, i met up with the girls. picked them up and off we went to the Curve. but it failed to impress us with its choices of restaurants. ewah. we then headed to One Utama. due to our undecided-ness of where to eat, we turned to the trusted directory board. a couple of minutes later.... still undecided. lalala. with that, we moved on, walked aimlessly (might not be true) until we saw IT. NEW YORK. it's a sign. we ARE going to NY, SOON... or not. okay, maybe not. oh well, if we don't get to go we might as well try the 'Authentic New York Indulgence'.

and boy, did we indulge!

then the most awesome thing happened. we ordered the mudpie (mud? eww) but we got the deep fried Mars bar instead. i was like, "EXCUSE ME." (no, i didn't say that out loud) but but don't worry, that confusion rewarded us with TWO desserts! double fatty! yay!
